Pelagia becomes the majority shareholder in Blue Ocean Technology following a private placement.

The aquaculture industry is able in a fantastic way to exploit opportunities in Norway and other countries to produce good and healthy food in a very efficient and resource-friendly way. However, like other human-controlled activities, this industry also has some challenges and opportunities to improve. Pelagia aims to become the best partner for the industry to solve some of the challenges with sludge, which is primarily a term for mainly feed waste and faeces from the farmed fish. Pelagia sees business opportunities in this, and if we succeed, we will increase the sustainability of the industry and reduce the environmental impact for the benefit of all.
Blue Ocean Technology AS was established in 2012, by entrepreneurs with close ties to the aquaculture industry. The company has developed technical solutions for dewatering, concentration and drying of sludge, which the aquaculture industry has adopted with great satisfaction. The company has also come a long way in developing technology for further downstream value creation of sludge.
Pelagia currently delivers solutions to the aquaculture industry both technical solutions for handling trimmings, dead fish, as well as emergency preparedness solutions for fish in the sea. Furthermore, Pelagia has established solutions both at sea and on land to handle the logistics associated with these services.
