UK fish quota

Pelagia Shetland supports the attempts by the Scottish Government to enable as much of the UK fish quota to be landed and processed in the UK.

Pelagia Shetland does not, however, believe enforcing an obligation on fishermen to land in the UK as the proper mechanism in achieving this goal. This would alter the free trade and competition for the raw material and as well introduce a subsidized industry.

Pelagia Shetland must maintain good relations with all our suppliers, the fishermen/quota-holders, so that we can remain sustainable business in the long run.  Ongoing improvements at Pelagia Shetland will, in the long run, create a good balance between fair relation both to fishermen and customers in competition both domestic and in the best paid markets.
